Advantages of Using Overhead Crane

  • Heavy Lifting Capability: Overhead bridge cranes are designed for heavy lifting and can handle substantial loads, making them ideal for industrial applications where large and bulky materials need to be lifted and transferred.
  • Versatility: The cranes offer versatility in terms of movement. They can travel along the length of the bridge, move horizontally on the rails, and lift loads vertically, providing a comprehensive range of motion.
  • Efficiency: Overhead bridge cranes contribute to operational efficiency by facilitating faster and more controlled movement of materials within a facility. This can lead to increased productivity and reduced downtime.
  • Optimized Use of Space: Overhead cranes operate in the overhead space of a facility, leaving the floor clear for other activities. This optimized use of space is particularly beneficial in busy industrial environments where floor space is valuable.
  • Improved Safety: Overhead bridge cranes are equipped with safety features such as limit switches, overload protection, and emergency stop systems. This ensures safer operations by reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Reduced Manual Labor: The use of overhead cranes minimizes the need for manual labor in lifting and moving heavy objects. This not only enhances safety but also reduces the physical strain on workers.
  • Customization: Overhead bridge cranes can be customized to suit specific operational requirements. Different lifting capacities, spans, and hoist configurations can be tailored to meet the unique needs of various industries.
  • Cost-Effective for Heavy Loads: While the initial investment might be significant, overhead bridge cranes can be cost-effective in the long run, especially for industries regularly dealing with heavy loads. They offer a reliable and durable solution for continuous heavy-duty operations.

Overhead Crane Price

An overhead crane price can vary widely based on several factors, including its capacity, span, lifting height, features, and the specific requirements of the application. Additionally, the cost can be influenced by the manufacturer, geographic location, and any customization needed for the crane.

Single girder overhead crane prices:
Crane Model Span Range Price Range
AQ-LD 5 ~ 20 ton overhead crane 7.5m ~ 31.5m 3000 USD ~ 13,000 USD
AQ-HD 5 ~ 20 ton overhead crane 7.5m ~ 22.5m 6600 USD ~ 24,000 USD
AQ-LX 5 ~ 10 ton crane 7.5m ~ 22.5m 3000 USD ~ 7900 USD
Double girder overhead crane prices:
Crane Model Span Range Price Range
AQ-QD 10 ~ 50 ton overhead crane 10.5m ~ 31.5m 16,000 USD ~ 70,000 USD
AQ-LH 10 ~ 50 ton overhead crane 10.5m ~ 31.5m 10,000 USD ~ 57,000 USD
AQ-NLH 10 ~ 50 ton overhead crane 10.5m ~ 31.5m 15,400 USD ~ 70,000 USD
AQ-QZ 10 ~ 20 ton grab crane 10.5m ~ 31.5m 29,000 USD ~ 100,000 USD
AQ-QDY 16 ~ 100 ton foundry crane 10.5m ~ 31.5m 35,000 USD ~ 320,000 USD

It’s important to note that these are rough estimates, and actual prices can vary. Customizations, such as special lifting attachments, automation features, or specific industry requirements, can add to the overall cost. Additionally, the installation costs, including the cost of the runway structure, electrical work, and any modifications to the facility, should be considered.

Main Components of Overhead Crane

  • 1. Bridge or Girders: The bridge is the horizontal beam or framework that spans the width of the working area. It supports the hoist and trolley and moves along the runways.
  • 2. End Trucks: End trucks are located at each end of the bridge and house the wheels on which the bridge travels along the runway. End trucks can be motorized for powered movement or manually operated.
  • 3. Runway: The runway is a system of rails or beams on which the bridge travels. It is typically installed at an elevated level, either on the building’s support structure or on freestanding columns.
  • 4. Hoist: The hoist is the lifting mechanism mounted on the bridge. It consists of a motor, a drum or lift wheel, and a hook or other lifting attachment. The hoist raises and lowers the load.
  • 5. Trolley: The trolley is a mechanism that moves horizontally along the bridge, allowing the load to be positioned precisely within the working area.
  • 6. Controls: Overhead cranes are operated using a control system, which can be located in an operator’s cabin or through a remote control device. The controls manage the movement of the bridge, trolley, and hoist.
  • 7. Operator’s Cabin: The operator’s cabin is a control station mounted on the bridge or located nearby. It provides the crane operator with a clear view of the working area and houses the controls for operating the crane.
  • 8. Power Supply: Overhead cranes can be powered by electricity or other sources such as diesel engines. The power supply provides energy to the crane’s motors for lifting, traversing, and other operations.
  • 9. Braking System: A braking system is crucial for controlling and stopping the movement of the crane. It helps to ensure that the crane can hold a load securely and stop precisely when required.
  • 10. Safety Features: Overhead cranes are equipped with safety features such as limit switches, overload protection, and emergency stop systems to ensure safe operations.
